About Ruth
Ruth Corry is a harpist from Belfast with a passion for composing emotive, soothing and atmospheric music. Ruthβs most recent album, βWhere the Light Isβ draws inspiration from nature, blending elements of folk, classical and ambient music to create a peaceful and uplifting listening experience.
Ruth graduated with a BA (Hons) in Music from Durham University where she achieved a First Class in her final recital. She is particularly passionate about Music as Therapy and the healing, calming qualities of the harp. Through both performance and composition, Ruth loves to share music that brings joy, peace, and comfort, creating space for reflection, connection, and hope.
Ruth works as a musician on behalf on Music in Hospitals & Care, a charity that improves the health and wellbeing of children and adults through the healing power of live music. She is the founder and director of Sky Harp Ensemble and a member of Willow Moon Duo with Rachel OβConnor.
Ruth is a qualified teacher, having completed her PGCE in Primary Teaching at Durham University after her Music Degree. Passionate about Music Education, she teaches harp to a number of students of all ages and provides regular performance opportunities for them.
